A successful career may be a cover for the most sad stories. Lolo has achieved her present position after much struggle and patience. Jones' childhood was difficult as she was the sole child of a mother in a large family. Her mother was constantly moving and she even was a resident in the basement. A life of constant movement forced Jones to attend the same school each year, until she began in high school. Jones who was interested in the track events at Theodore Roosevelt the high school was able to live in a different place from her mother so that she could explore her interest. Jones was a cellist with the school's orchestra and recipient of Gatorade the track and field athlete of the year won her the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award towards the end of her high school career. Jones, when she went to university, was recognized as one of the top hurdlers. She won the 100-meter obstacle during the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. Jones was also part of the team that finished second in the 100-meter Relay event. Jones has won indoor hurdles at NCAA championships in 2003 as well as 2004. The track career after she completed her studies during 2005 Jones was able to begin training for the track. Jones took home the Torino Memorial in 2005, and also Ostrava and Heusden tracks events the following year.

Brandt was found by casting directors in her home town and was cast in the role of Naevia in the Starz popular Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Lesley Brandt moved along with the entire family to Auckland New Zealand in 1999. After a few years of being employed in the retail industry and then being promoted to an IT consultant. Lesley's professional career started with handful of modeling projects. Then she appeared in many commercial ads. In 2008, she completed her studies in acting. In 2009, she began her acting studies, she continued training by using the Meisner technique of studying. Lesley Brandt's very first noteworthy acting role was on the TV drama Diplomatic Immunity, which aired in New Zealand. Lesley Brandt has shown up in the New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street in a visiting supporting appearance. In the following season, she was in the sci-fi action thriller This Is Not My Life which is based on the anecdote of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast in the Television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia who was a teen hostage, and was later featured on the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena mini-series.
