Alison Wright, an English actor from England. Her best-known role is as Martha Hanson in the FX the spy-themed period show The Americans. She received criticism and nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for this. She also appeared in Ryan Murphy's cult series Feud - Bette & Joan & Hollywood. Wright who was adoptive by her parents was born in Sunderland in 1976. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She attended school in New York City at The Barrow Group and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. It was her waitressing career that was interrupted with auditions for roles in various parts. When she went scuba diving, one of her passions at the time, she had a cardiac accident that placed her in the in a coma. Six days later she died peacefully, and her family by her bedside. Wright was born on July 12, 1976 in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and was fostered by adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age.
